Alaina Visalli (Demchock)
Alaina Visalli born and raised in Rochester, NY. Trained as a gymnast as a young girl, but after a severe injury at the age of 10, her gymnastics coach pointed Alaina in the direction of dance. Alaina fell in love with dance immediately when she took her first dance class at Performance Plus with Patty Drake Bellucco.. Alaina’s favorite dance competition accomplishments as an elite dancer are: Runner-up in Dance Masters of America Junior Miss Dance Competition 1990, Dance USA awarded Alaina the title of “Miss Dance USA Superstar 1995”, Highest Scoring Solo at Regency Competition 1995 and Starpower National Dance Competition 1994, Favorite special Awards: Best Legs 1995 & Excellence in Dance 1994. Alaina attended Point Park College for Dance 1995-1996.
Alaina as a Professional
Alaina’s favorite professional performance accomplishments are: Featured Dancer/Singer/Acrobat on Norwegian Cruise Lines 1997-1999, “Anytime Annie” in 42nd Street and “Tess” in Crazy For You, as well as becoming the Principal Dancer of the LIDO 1999-2000 and working with Alex Magno (choreographer of Madonna’s tour), touring Vienna Austria, Munich Germany, and Paris France, featured dancer of Sha-boom at Harrah’s Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City 2002. Alaina has performed in over 12 different countries in professional dance jobs. Alaina’s favorite places to train were Performance Plus Dance Productions (Greece, NY), Broadway Dance Center (NYC) & Steps On Broadway (NYC).
The Beginning of Alaina Visalli Dance Company
Alaina went back to college (Rochester Institute of Technology) for business and learned as much as she could to prepare for her own dance studio. Alaina is not only skilled in ballet, lyrical, jazz, and tap, she can teach acrobatics, ballroom, latin dance, hip hop, and contemporary. Alaina’s favorite teaching/choreography awards include: Best Showmanship for the Circle Of Life (contemporary line) at Tremaine Competition 2002, First Place Overall for Sail (contemporary small group) at Starbound 2017. Top Teacher for Moondance (tap small group) at Star Systems 2016. Best Choreography for White Winter Hymnal (lyrical small group) at Star Systems 2018 & Work Song (contemporary solo- Emma Tonkery) at Hall of Fame 2018.
Her greatest achievement today is working for herself at the Alaina Visalli Dance Company and helping kids achieve their dreams of becoming great dancers and performers.
